Designed as a light freighter for forward areas, the Scottish Aviation Prestwick 'Twin' Pioneer can carry up to 16 passengers. The aircraft has a very short take off and landing capability and can be used for casualty evacuation. First entered into service in 1955, it was used by the SAS for operations in the Far East and in Borneo during the Malaysian Confrontation. Range with a full load, 505 miles cruising at 130mph at 5,000 feet.
