Unit Junior Parachute Company

A Junior Parachute Company (JPC) was formed in 1961 as part of The Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces Depot.

The JPC was dedicated to training junior soldiers between the ages of 15 and 17 years.

It was renowned for its hard physical training, tough discipline, and above all the education of the junior soldier in The Parachute Regiment traditions and ethos.

Over the years it produced an extremely high standard of young soldiers, with many going onto serve long and successful careers in The Parachute Regiment. The Roll Call section for the Company provides some examples and illustrates why the JPC was the envy of many other regiments.

The Junior Parachute Company was disbanded in 1993 following the Army wide rationalisation of the recruit training system.
