144 Parachute Field Ambulance, Royal Army Medical Corps (V), was a Territorial Army unit and formed part of 44th Parachute Brigade.
Its HQ was based in Chelsea and it operated detachments in Nottingham, Glasgow and Cardiff.
When 44th Parachute Brigade (V) was disbanded on 31 March 1978, only the three TA Parachute Battalions and 144 Field Ambulance retained their parachute role. Other units were either converted or disbanded.
