Corporal Trevor Norman Warden was enlisted into 1/7th Battalion The Queen's Royal Regiment and volunteered for airborne forces shortly after the formation of the 1st Parachute Brigade.
He qualified as a military parachutist on Course 8 which ran at RAF Ringway from 10 to 24 February 1942 and subsequently served with A Company, 4th Parachute Battalion, which initially formed part of the 1st Parachute Brigade until July 1942.
He deployed with the battalion to North Africa in 1943 in preparation for the invasion of Sicily. In the event his unit was not used, although it was deployed for the invasion of Italy in September 1943.
Cpl Warden was wounded on 27 December 1943 at Melone, Italy, and medically discharged as a result of his wounds in 1944.
