Chaplain The Rev Henry James Irwin

Chaplain 4th Class The Reverend Henry James Irwin was the son of James Thomas and Sarah Ann Irwin, of Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand. He served with Royal Army Chaplain's Department, attached to 11th Parachute Battalion.

He took part in the Battle of Arnhem, during Op Market Garden and died during the conflict between 20-25 September 1944, aged 28 years old. He is now buried at Oosterbeek War Cemetery, Arnhem.
