Enlisted in Oct 1970.
Joined 3 PARA April 1971 served with B Coy and Patrol Coy.
Tours included Ghana 1971, Cyprus for 6 months in 1972,  and Northern Ireland 1973.
Transferred to Vigilant Platoon 1974 and  visited BAOR, Gibralter, Trucial States,Cyprus again, Canada 1976 & 1977, Norway & Denmark.
Back to 3 PARA (C Coy) for the 1980 tour of Northen Ireland.
Demobbed in mid 1981.

When the Vigilant Platoons got scrapped in the late 70's some of us went to the newly formed Infantry Demonstration Battalion (I.D.B.)to form a new Milan Platoon in Netheravon. From what i can remember those of us that went there were, Myself,Graham Clogger Colbeck,Angus Beaton,Martin Hanlon,Dick Pearson. There was a couple more but the grey matter hurts. ?
