Lance Corporal Henry Greer served with 1st (Airborne) Battalion, Royal Ulster Rifles.
He went by glider on Operation Overlord to Normandy on the evening of 6 June 1944 at LZ N, near Ranville, and was initially deployed to extend the southern sector of the bridgehead.
L/Cpl Greer was Killed in Action on 8 June 1944 aged 21 years. He was given a field burial in Longueval France, before later being interned at Ranville War Cemetery.
